Who We Are
East & West Design Co. is a bespoke furniture and design studio established in 2015 and located in Vancouver, B.C.

We specialize in making unique furnishing that fits your space and budget. We’ll work with you to find the right size, colour palette and style that works for you. We offer custom woodwork for your home, business, restaurant, brewery, distillery or anywhere else under the sun.

Meet The Owner
Sean Hewlett was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His introduction into woodworking was at his family’s cabin in Minaki, Ontario. Summer days with his brothers were spent helping his father on large and small projects around the century-old cabin.

In college, he learned the practice of set fabrication while attending Studio 58 Theatre conservatory. From this he learned how to work within budgets and approach problems from creative angles under short deadlines.

Furthering his interests, his completed an internship at a local Vancouver-based furniture company; Union Wood Co. Here he learned the intricacies of running a small business, how to work with clients & designers to bring a vision to life while maintaining and nurturing ones’ own style.

Since establishing his own design and fabrication studio, East & West Design Co, Sean’s work is featured in several prominent locations around Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler.

His Mapped series pieces were featured in the 2017 Vancouver Culture Crawl Opening Gala and has been commissioned from London, Ireland, Massachusetts, California, Utah, Manitoba and Ontario and British Colombia.
