Irene Patterson

From the splendor of the Canadian Rockies, to the cool serenity of the countless lakes, to the warmth of the rolling prairies, this western Canadian artist expresses her love and respect for nature and her country by painting scenes on natural leaves.

In more involved pieces, painted or natural leaves are incorporated into larger scenes. The medium Irene uses is acrylic. She began focusing on "leaf art" in 1996 using a self-developed technique. Her work has a distinct quality that is appealing in its unusual format.

When time permits, Irene also experiments with a larger expressions of appreciation for the world around her. Participation in an occasional workshop provides an opportunity expand and improve her techniques. She enjoys traveling and spending time in the great outdoors with her family.

Irene work has been shown across Canada and has become a part of many collections in Canada and around the world.
