Our family has lived in western Manitoba, Canada for more than a century, growing and harvesting flaxseed over multiple generations. The clean, open prairies and cooler temperatures in Manitoba make it an ideal place to grow flax. Our very cold winters aid in seed storage, and the ALA Omega 3 content tends to be higher than U.S. flax due to the cooler growing temperatures. Manitoba Milling Company Flaxseed is grown and processed to ensure it’s gluten-free. We preserve its natural stability and functionality through a proprietary pasteurization system, ensuring consistent quality in each lot. Our experienced staff carefully examine each lot in our on-site laboratory to ensure adherence to strict microbial, purity, and stability standards.

QUALITY PROCESS
Manitoba Milling Company uses a proprietary heat treatment process to ensure consistent safety and quality. Only healthy, uniformly coloured seeds are selected for milling. This gives the flaxseed a roasted, nutty, mild flavour. Typical flaxseed flavour characteristics can include a grassy, grainy, or even a sharp taste. Our heat treatment process rounds those flavours out so you only get the premium taste profile of our flaxseed.
